Adam Yates will leave Ineos Grenadiers at the end of this season to join UAE Team Emirates in 2023.
The British rider, who finished ninth in this year's Tour de France, will join Tadej Pogachar's team on a three-year contract.
"I am really excited to be joining UAE Team Emirates. I have watched the team grow over the years and the opportunity to join was one I couldn't turn down," Yates said.
"I feel like I'm peaking as a rider and the team will bring out the best in me. I look forward to riding with the best riders in the world and helping the team become the best in the world."
Yates said he is looking forward to "riding with the best riders in the world and helping the team become the best in the world.
After spending the first seven years of his career with BikeExchange-Jayco, Yates moved to Ineos Grenadiers in 2021, where he won the Volta a Catalunya, finished fourth at the Vuelta a España, and made the podium at Il Lombardia in his best season.
This year he was runner-up in the UAE Tour, fourth in Paris-Nice, and won the Tour of Deutschland, but his summer and his ambitions for the Tour de France were affected by illness.
"We are very happy to have Adam on our team for the next few years. His ability to win a variety of races and finish in the top positions is very impressive and he has proven to be a consistent talent," said UAE Emirates team boss Mauro Gianetti.
." We all know he is a great talent and we believe he will fit perfectly into our structure as we continue to strengthen our team over the next few years."
Yates' move comes as UAE Team Emirates continues to strengthen, Ineos Grenadiers replaces its Grand Tour leader card, and Richard Kalapas also moves to EF Education Easy Post.
Egan Bernal is expected to make a full return to lead the Ineos line next season, while Geraint Thomas proved he is still a factor with a podium finish at the Tour de France.
However, the team has invested in young talent over the past few years, with Carlos Rodriguez and newcomer Timen Arensmann having room to step up, as well as long-term GC prospects like Tom Pidcock, Luke Plapp, and Leo Hayter.
Yates is the fourth signing of the season for the UAE, following Tim Wellens from Lot Soudal, Felix Großschartner from Beulah Hansgrohe, and Domen Novak from Bahrain Victorious.
The UAE moves Rui Costa to Intermarque Wantigover, but extends the contracts of key riders such as Rafau Maika, Brandon McNulty, and 19-year-old Vuelta podium finisher Juan Ayuso.
