BikeExchange-Jayco signs with Elmer Reinders.

The BikeExchange-Jayco team has been active in the transfer market this summer, and their latest bit of business will be signing Elmar Reinders, who will join them next week.

The 30-year-old Dutch sprinter has raced at the second or third division level throughout his career, but will step up to the World Tour next Monday, August 23.

He currently competes for Danish Rewaal at the continental level and has won four races so far this season.

Reinders has formed a strong bond with BikeExchange lead sprinter Dylan Groenewegen and will be joining his lead out train in the coming months. He has signed a contract for the remainder of this season and through 2024.

"The sprint team has really taken a step forward this season. Having an experienced rider like Reinders on the team will allow us to continue moving in the right direction while strengthening our sprinters group," said team general manager Brent Copeland.

"It is very exciting for us to be able to build a team around a rider like Dylan. He is joining the World Tour for the first time, so he still has a lot to learn, which will help him reach even more of his potential."

"We are very excited to have a rider like Dylan on the team.

Reinders added: "I'm very excited about this. "I'm really looking forward to being part of Team Bike Exchange Jayco and making a difference in the sprint races and the classics. It's a great opportunity to join the World Tour and I will do everything I can to make it a success.

Despite facing possible demotion from the World Tour Bike, Exchange-Jayco has recently secured its financial future thanks to long-term backer Jerry Ryan, solidifying and strengthening its roster for 2023 and beyond.

Key leaders Simon Yates and Michael Matthews have signed new contracts, and the Reinders include Eddie Dunbar (Ineos Grenadiers), Chris Harper (Jumbo Visma), Filippo Zana (Bardiani-CSF-Faisane), Neo Pro Rudy Porter, Blake Quick (Neo Pro), Felix Engelhardt (Neo Pro) and others joined him.

They lost Kayden Groves, who moved to Alpecin Deceuninck, and Sam Bury, who retired.
