Tim Wellens will move to UAE Team Emirates in 2023 after a successful career with Lotto Soudal.

The 31-year-old Flemish rider has been rumored with UAE Team Emirates in recent weeks as Lotto Soudal fights to avoid relegation from the World Tour and to develop new young riders. Wellens has signed a two-year contract.

"After 10 years of great experience with my previous team, I thought it was time for a new challenge.

"At the UAE Emirates, I feel I have joined a truly professionally structured, ambitious and global team, and I am very much looking forward to being part of the team in 2023 and beyond."
