Bahrain Victorious announced the signing of three young riders, including Giro di Sicilia stage winner Fran Miholievic.
The 20-year-old Croatian rider attacked the breakaway group on stage 3 of the UCI 2.1 ranked stage race in April and rode solo to victory.
Miholijevic is expected to make the step up to the WorldTour, and his choice to join Bahrain feeder team Friuli ASD is no surprise, especially after he signed on as a trainee earlier this month.
"It is a dream and a pleasure to sign with Bahrain Victorious," Miholiewicz said in a press release. 'I know the team well as they supported my previous team CTF. During the training camp we had in Bahrain Victorious, I saw their attention to detail regarding performance. I am looking forward to this new chapter and will do my best to leave my mark."
[8The team also signed Australian sprinter Cameron Scott, formerly of the Australian Cycling Academy (ARA Pro Racing Sunshine Coast). The 24-year-old has won the Melbourne to Warrnambool in February, the June 1 .2 Memorial Philippe Van Koningsloo in June, and a podium finish at the Ronde van Oeverijssel in May.
"I am very happy and excited to be on the World Tour with Team Bahrain Victorious for the 2023/24 season. Competing on the World Tour is a lifelong goal for me and I am very grateful for the opportunity to achieve it with such a great team," Scott said.
The third rider is Austrian rider Rainer Keplinger, who joins on a two-year Neo Pro contract. 24-year-old Keplinger comes from a rowing background and was a member of the Hrinkow Advarics Cycleang team. He got into cycling after winning a virtual race, and in his second year of racing he won the overall at the Raiffeisen Oberösterreich Rundfahrt.
"I'm really looking forward to meeting my new teammates and am already motivated for the challenges ahead. I hope we can grow well and achieve good results together," Keplinger said.
