Mark Cavendish suffered a high-speed crash on the opening night of the Ghent Six Day in Belgium on Tuesday.
Mark Cavendish, who is teaming up with Iljo Caisse for this year's event, appeared to slip in a turn during the one-lap team time trial in race 4.
Cavendish got up a short time later and appeared to be fine, but was forced to miss the first Madison of the night.
The one-lap team time trial is a competition in which both riders start with a flying start and one rider, in this case Caisse, brings the team up to speed before handing the reins to his partner for the final sprint.
Cavendish slips out after 9 seconds of competition.
The team won the points race ahead of Dutchmen Jan-Willem van Schip and Joeri Havik.
In the first Madison, Casey was paired with Jonas Rickert, but teammate Roy Peters was out due to illness.
