Stages has announced a change in product pricing. This is good news for riders who want to make their training more scientific.

Stages, an American company, has revolutionized data collection for cyclists by producing crank-based power meters that can measure a rider's power output with incredible accuracy and durability.

Stages brought professional-level training technology to the broader market with its simple and relatively affordable power meters, but their price remains a significant investment, often higher than the price of an actual crankset.

With the rapid digitalization of the cycling world, the value of power meters as the primary source of output data has become almost indispensable. For many, however, a Stages power meter appropriate for their chosen groupset was too expensive to come to terms with their annual cycling budget.

The new Stages price adjustment would further democratize professional-level sports science for dashing amateur riders.

A notable new price point for the popular Stages power meter is £299 for the Stages Shimano 105 R7000 left crank arm only.

At a more premium price point, the Stages Shimano DuraAce R9100 Power LR left/right combination power meter is now £939. This power meter was previously £1199.

There are no mechatronic changes to the power meter, and the improved pricing is the result of Stages becoming more production efficient as it expands its business to meet increasing global demand.
