Most of the Gazprom Rusvelo team, which had been quarantined at a race hotel on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island, have been allowed to leave the UAE, the team announced on Instagram on Thursday.

The Russian team was staying on the same floor as UAE Team Emirates, where Fernando Gaviria was confirmed to have contracted the virus and was quarantined in hospital, Cofidis and Groupama-FDJ. The French team was allowed to leave the UAE on the 7th.

"Most of the Gazprom-Rusvelo team were allowed to leave quarantine in the UAE, which was announced on the hotel premises in Abu Dhabi due to coronavirus spread. The players and team stayed at the hotel for two weeks, during which time they passed five coronavirus tests," Gazprom Rusvelo announced.

One of the team's riders, Imelio Sima, 22, was released from the hospital, but the other two riders, including Dimitry Strahov, and two staff members remain quarantined in Abu Dhabi Hospital.
