After releasing a full family of popular Gravel King tires, Panaracer is now offering the Gravel King SK (Small Knob) in mini block and rail tread and the Gravel King semi-slick pattern in prominent colors.
According to Panaracer's definition, you can choose from the following colors: "With its distinctive elegance and luxury, purple can be front and center or play a supporting role. Crisp and spicy, punchy mustard (which highlights subtle colors), and olive (pictured), which evokes a sense of spring freshness when combined with white or brown."
Pungent language aside, the colored tread and skinwall sidewalls certainly look different, and as we noted in our recent review of the Panaracer Gravel King SK, we think the skinwalls feel slightly faster and smoother. The [ZSG (Zero Slip Grip)] compound and SK pattern also provide great grip on loose surfaces. The 43mm carcass version we tested floated well on rough surfaces, and the AX-a cord and anti-flat technology in the casing made it tank tough even under low pressure.
While this 43mm wide gravel tire certainly feels sturdy, the smaller version is impressively light and fast, and is available in the full 700c range (32mm, 35mm and 38mm in both versions, and 43mm and 26 x 2.1in in SK) in all three colors.
Panaracer is very reasonable at £44.99 for all tires, not only for their good looks, but also for the fact that they are completely made in Japan.
