PEdALED has expanded its gravel shoe portfolio with a shoe developed in collaboration with Fizik. As part of PEdALED's expanded response to the rapid growth of the gravel market, the company now offers the Jary Terra Powerstrap X4 gravel bike shoe.
This latest addition to the Jary collection, PEdALED's gravel-targeted product sub-brand, is an attempt to provide superior power transfer on the bike and a more comfortable walk on the descent.
The construction of the Fizik Power Strap X4 remains the same, with Fizik's ergonomically appropriate velcro design. The angled Power Strap allows Fizik's fastening system to fit in a ribbon shape rather than compressing the upper structure of the shoe tightly, as is common with traditional dual-strap Velcro systems.
Gravel riders often remove their shoes, especially when they need to bike up steep off-road portages. Angular pressure when walking on steep, loose terrain can exacerbate the problem of ill-fitting Velcro systems. Fizik claims that the Power Strap design proves its worth by distributing the pressure load more evenly across the top of the shoe when walking down rocky inclines where maximum flexion is induced.
In addition to the targeted off-road walking comfort, the Jalitera Power Strap X4 gravel shoe maintains a Fizik stiffness index of 6, which should ensure that most of the energy is lost in sole flexion without inducing a harsh and unforgiving ride, and most of the energy is should ensure that it is converted into power.
What makes the Jary Terra Powerstrap X4 shoe stand out is its teal color. This graphic design is both fashionable and moderately neutral in color, making dust and mud marks less noticeable.
PEdALED's Jary Terra Powerstrap X4 gravel shoes retail for £136.00 / $192.00 / €160.00 and weigh 292g in size 42. There is a wide range of fits, from 36 to 48, including half sizes.
