Watch Nauman's Instagram (@Cyclingnews_feed) for a gravel training ride on Mammoth Lakes in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Nauman's ride takes you on an adventure and provides a sneak peak into a section of her first event, the Mammoth Tough Gravel Race (open in new tab) on September 19.

"These are the roads I have been training on to prepare for some of my biggest goals, and I want to share the magic and see who is "tough" enough to join me," Nauman said in a recent event press release.

She created a 40-mile route for Monday's training ride that showcases the amazing features of the Mammoth Tough Route along Inyo National Forest (USFS) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land. Ten percent of the event's entry fee goes to help protect public lands.

"It must be amazing out there," Nauman says. 'We'll start with a morning walk, coffee, breakfast, and prep for the ride because we have a dog, lay out what we're bringing, introduce the bikes and gear, and showcase the ride's scenery and recovery.' We also have an afternoon hike and a "toast" with a drink to thank everyone for their help at the end of the day."

The Mammoth Tough Gravel Race has two courses. The short course is approximately 45 miles, has 2,000 feet of climbing, and circles the famous caldera. The long course is about 100 miles with 8,000 feet of elevation gain and runs through the volcanic tablelands formed by the Long Valley Caldera.
