Australian Truck Championships postponed to December

Australia's 2020 Track Championships, originally scheduled for March but postponed to September due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be postponed again to December due to continued uncertainty over COVID-19 regulations, Cycling Australia (CA) has announced.

"In considering this decision, CA consulted with state governments, medical professionals and member states to ensure that the Games are run in an accessible, fair and safe manner for all participants, stakeholders and local communities," a statement from the Australian National Federation said Monday.

Specifically, the elite, under-19, and paratrack national championships will be affected by the decision. The elite and U19 competitions are scheduled to run from December 16-20, while the paratrack competitions will be held from December 18-20. All competitions will take place at the Ana Meares Velodrome in Brisbane, Queensland.

"As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve across Australia, this decision is aimed at ensuring that CA can run a safe and fair championship for all," Kip Kaufman, General Manager of Cycling Australia Sport 7]

." We will continue to work as hard as we can with the government and local authorities to ensure the championships move forward."
