Pinarello has unveiled its 2021 bike lineup, revealing some pleasant surprises for cyclists looking for a great commuter bike.
The Italian brand's high-performance carbon road bikes continue to steal the show with their striking design aesthetic, but an interesting addition to the Pinarello lineup is the eTreviso, described as an urban electric bike. Pinarello already offers the Nytro electric road bike and the Nytro gravel bike in its lineup.
The eTreviso's hydroformed aluminum frame has raised chainstays, internal cable routing, fenders, and a sturdy and elegant rear pannier rack.
Offering agile steering and a light front end for easy pickup in urban areas, Pinarello has equipped the eTreviso with a carbon fiber fork. Ensuring steering stability, especially on poor road surfaces, is a 100x12 mm thru-axle. [The eTreviso's tire clearance is wide enough to accommodate a 2-inch wide 700c casing. Both hubs are equipped with 160mm rotors and hydraulically actuated brakes for reliable deceleration in all weather conditions. The Shimano Deore 1x drivetrain also promises durability and low running costs.
The eTreviso's battery assistance and electric motor cadence are provided by German system specialist Fazua. Its Evation e-bike system weighs only 4.6 kg and delivers a peak power of 250 w while disconnecting at speeds above 25 km/h.
Pinarello offers the eTreviso in three frame options, S, M, and L, with size-specific geometry.
Head angles are 71°, 71.5°, and 72°; seat angles are 74°, 73°, and 72°. Reach is 385mm, 400mm, and 425mm on the three eTreviso frame sizes, which should provide stable cruising and predictable commuter bike handling dynamics.
As befits an e-commuter bike, the e-Treviso is equipped with front and rear lights powered directly from the main lithium-ion battery pack.
Pinarello sells the eTreviso for £4,000.
