Simmons Suspended, Giro d'Italia Preview and Hansen Exclusive - Podcast

In the latest episode of the Cycling News Podcast, we preview the Giro d'Italia (opens in new tab), which starts Saturday, and hear from Matt White and Adam Hansen.

We also look back at the Fresh Wallonne (opens in new tab) and hear from Marc Hirschi. Europe Editor Stephen Farrand joins us to talk about the Giro d'Italia.

We also take a look at the most important news of the week, including Quinn Simmons' (open in new tab) suspension from Trek-Segafredo.

Simmons wrote "Bye-bye," followed by an emoji of a black skin-colored hand waving back. The use of black emojis by whites was repeatedly addressed as racist and the term "digital blackface" was coined. Luca Guercilena, Trek-Segafredo's team manager, suggested that Simmons was unlikely to race again in 2020.

As the Giro d'Italia kicks off in Sicily, we highlight some of the race's key stages and introduce the leading pre-race contenders.
