E-Hatchet is DeVinci's Value E-Gravel Bike

The Devinci E-Hatchet is a fusion of all-terrain active transport and gravel travel.

This stand-alone model is the latest addition to Devinci's product portfolio, and the Canadian bicycle brand offers interesting value in the fast-growing E-gravel segment.

The market for battery-assisted gravel bikes may be niche, but that doesn't mean riders aren't willing to try all-terrain hybrids with commuter performance.

Aerodynamic carbon fiber frames were the trend for gravel bikes in 2020, but DeVinci's E-Hatchet is made of alloy and complemented by a composite fork. It may not be light, but there is no disputing its versatile role.

Pedal assist on the E-Hatchet is Shimano's STEPS system with E6100 specifications. That is, a 250W mid-drive motor, with energy supplied by Shimano's 418Wh lithium-ion battery pack.

The DeVinci E-Hatchet M size weighs 17.42 kg and should provide assistance for approximately 150 km, depending on terrain, gradient, wind conditions, and selected assist level.

The geometry numbers are what one would expect from an aluminum E-gravel bike: the L-size E-Hatchet is balanced with a 71° head angle, 73.5° seat angle, 397 mm reach and 613 mm stack height.

Rolling the E-Hatchet are Maxxis Refuse tubeless tires, 700 x 40 mm in size, [quick-release axles 9 x 100 mm at the front and 10 x 135 mm at the rear, which fit into a hub mounted on a rim with a 23 mm inner diameter.

As befits the trend of many battery-assisted gravel bikes, the E-Hatchet is equipped with Shimano GRX hydraulic brakes, which actuate 160 mm diameter rotors.

The drivetrain is a blend of Shimano GRX 600 and 810 with a 47t chainring driving an 11-34 cassette.

DeVinci offers the E-Hatchet in a wide range of frame sizes from S-XL for a launch price of $3,699.00 (opens in new tab).
