As the intensity and popularity of indoor cycling skyrockets during the harsh winter months, riders can become frustrated with connectivity.
In response to user requests, Wahoo Fitness has developed the Kickr Direct Connect accessory, which allows riders to connect to their Kickr Direct Connect device with a single, easy-to-use, digital signal.
Designed to address the signal loss and interruptions that can occur with digital connections when paired with indoor cycling apps, Kickr Direct Connect is exactly what you would expect from a hardware connection cable.
Tyler Harris, Wahoo's product manager for Kickr, noted user behavior and response." Wireless connectivity works very well for most riders, but for those who have connectivity issues or can't avoid the risk of dropping out during an important race or workout, Kickr Direct Connect allows them to ride with greater reliability and confidence.
Direct Connect connects the Kickr trainer to the user's personal computer or home network router using an Ethernet cable.
The stability of the data feed through the physical connection allows Wahoo to provide additional user security for riders in environments saturated with radio frequency signals.
The simple goal is to ensure that your indoor training session or virtual ride is flawlessly recorded and data supported from start to finish.
If you suffer from occasional data dropouts during a Zwift workout or even a Zwift race, this new evolution of hardware will be a welcome addition. Especially for riders who live in apartments that often suffer from signal interference, sourcing due to the density of building materials, or the diversity of digital signals in crowded buildings.
Kickr Direct Connect is only compatible with the Wahoo Kickr V5 Turbo Trainer. It is also certified on Wahoo's SUF training system, TrainerRoad, FullGaz, RGT Cycling, and other virtual platforms.
Kickr Direct Connect retails for £79.99.
