Cannondale appears to be developing an all-new gravel bike, which could be the brand's "race-specific" gravel bike.
Former road pro-turned-gravel racer Ted King is a Cannondale-sponsored athlete who was spotted riding what appears to be a new bike at the Unbound Gravel 200 on Saturday.
King's bike, with the Cannondale logo on the downtube, has a similar silhouette to the brand's Top Stone, but features no leaf spring pivots on the seat tube, a higher seat stay angle, and does not appear to bend forward like the brand's existing gravel bikes They do not appear to be bent forward like the brand's existing gravel bikes.
Despite the extensive media coverage of the race, images of the bike are unfortunately sparse due to the remoteness of the race route, but it is clear from these photos that the bike is not currently in the Cannondale lineup.
It appears to blend aspects of the rest of the Cannondale lineup, with a dropped seatstay similar to the Super Six, but a head tube and fork similar to the gravel-oriented Top Stone. [Given that Topstone, a gravel bike with a leaf spring design "soft-tail" suspension, is already in the Cannondale lineup, this bike falls between Topstone and the brand's (admittedly smaller) Super-X cyclocross bike. It is expected to be a stiffer, more race-friendly option that fills the void.
With the recent addition of two new Super-Six models, the EVO CX and EVO SE, to the list of UCI-approved frames and forks, we can only conclude that this bike is one of them. Another option is the possibility that this bike is actually the successor to the Super-X.
