Mark Cavendish will team up with his Deceuninck-Quick Step teammate Iljo Keisse in the upcoming 6 Days of Ghent, November 16-21.
The Manxman last competed in this event with Keisse in 2019, but suffered a high-speed crash on day one; the pair finished fourth in the final standings. Cavendish won this event in 2016 with Bradley Wiggins, while Keisse has won the local event seven times.
Cavendish made a major comeback this season after joining the Belgian WorldTour team on a one-year contract, winning four stage victories and a points prize at the Tour de France, tying Eddy Merckx's record for stage wins in the process.
The architect of these victories, Mikhail Morkov, paired with Olympic and World Madison champion Lasse Norman Hansen, will be Cavendish's rival on Six Day.
Elsewhere, Kenny de Ketele will defend his title in his last race before retirement with Rob Giese, while Jasper de Baist will be paired with Lotto Soudal's teammate Roger Kluge.
There will also be a women's race with Lotte Kopecky and Shari Vosuit on the start list. The competition will also honor the newly retired Jorian Dole.
First held in 1922, this year marks the 80th edition of this track event.
