DT Swiss Introduces New Aero Optimized ERC Wheels

DT Swiss has changed the shape of the carbon rims on its ERC DICUT endurance wheel series. The second generation ERC 1100 and 1400 DICUT wheels are clean-sheet designs that combine DT's proven hub technology with improved rim aerodynamics. [The ERC DICUT carbon wheels, like the ERC 1100 and ERC 1400, the pinnacle of road bike wheels, have a 22mm inner diameter to accommodate tires up to 32mm wide. The new DT Swiss Carbon endurance wheels are available in two rim depths, 35mm and 45mm, as well as width. This is deeper than DT's existing ERC alloy rims. [DT Swiss also uses Aero spokes on these new endurance wheels, connected to the brand's proven ratchet hubs.

The ERC 1100 DICUT spins on DT's 180 series hubs, which feature the Swiss brand's EXP ratchet internals. SINC ceramic bearings that reduce mechanical friction improve durability, and riders of the ERC 1100 DICUT can choose either DT aero comp II or aero lite II spokes.

Riders who prefer DT Swiss 240 series hubs can opt for ERC 1400 DICUT wheels with first generation DT aero comp spokes.

Neither new wheelset requires its own tools to open, and both the ERC 1100 and 1400 wheels use a 36T ratchet.

The DT Swiss ERC 1400 wheels are priced at £1,869.98 and have a 650b option with a 35mm rim depth. The ERC 1400 35 weighs 1,468g and the deeper 45-section wheelset weighs 1,519g.

Upgrading to the more premium ERC 1100 wheels costs £2,299.98 and the ERC 1100 35 wheelset weighs 1,391g and the 45 The weight of the aero option would be 1,422g. The maximum rider weight for the wheels is 120 kg.
