Tsgab Gourmay Extends Two-Year Contract with Team BikeExchange

Tugab Gurumayi has signed a contract with Team BikeExchange for another two years, extending the Ethiopian support rider's contract with the Australian-based team until the end of 2023.

The 30-year-old Gurumayi, who joined the team in 2019, has strengthened the team's climbing capabilities, completing seven Grand Tours along with his 10th season in the pro peloton.

"We are pleased to continue working with a cooperative rider like Tsugab," Brent Copeland, general manager of Team Bike Exchange, said in a statement. He is a true team player, and with his cooperation and commitment, he will continue to provide plenty of support to our climbers during the busy World Tour season."

Gurumayi, a six-time Ethiopian national time trial champion and three-time road race champion, is embroiled in a brutal civil war in Gurumayi hails from the Tigray region of northern Ethiopia, which is embroiled in a brutal civil war. Team Bike Exchange has also signed a contract extension with Chris Juul Jensen and and the signing of Kelland O'Brien, Jan Maas, Lawson Craddock, Jesús David Pena, Alexandre Balmer, and Campbell Stewart.
