The UCI Track Champions League will host its second round on Saturday, November 27 at the Sid Arena in Panevezis, Lithuania.

The velodrome, which opened in 2008 and hosted the European Championships in 2012, will feature a new action-packed race format.

Sprint sensations Harry Lavriesen (NL) and Emma Hintze (GER) have taken the lead in Mallorca, but world champion Lavriesen has four points on Germany's Stephan Boettcher and Hintze has two on Olympic champion s Kelsey Mitchell by a slim 2-point lead.

All top riders will compete in five series races. This new race format is spectator-friendly, combining the endurance elimination and scratch races, the speed sprints, and the keirin into a three-hour race.

In the first race, Canadian Maggie Coles-Leister made a breakthrough in the scratch race, leading a successful three-man breakaway. Archibald, who led the chase, will not make the same mistake again.

Corbin Strong also had a standout performance, winning the scratch race in the closing laps and finishing strong in the elimination race. 2020 Points Race World Champion Corbin Strong did not expect to come out on top, but was He was pleased with the result, although he did not expect to come out on top.

Sprints are a unique event in the Track Champions League, with the early races pitting three riders against each other instead of two, so the tactics are different.

Lavriesen says: "I like racing with just three riders in a heat, it's different from one-on-one and very technical. It's great to race here."

Round 2 will be a special round for the three Lithuanian riders selected to compete in the series: two-time world champion Simona Krupekaitė and Vasilijus Rendel in the sprint competition, and Olivija Bareixitė, who has escaped in the scratch race and is currently third in the women's endurance. The round will be a special one for the three Lithuanian riders who have been selected to compete in the series.

"I competed in the Lithuanian National Championships the week before the second round and was able to test my form before the second round," said Krupecaitė.

"I'm ready, excited, and can't wait for Saturday night. It's a rare chance to see some of the best riders in the world and we are lucky to have an event like this in Panevezis and to compete in front of our fans."

The UCI Track Champions League is streaming on Eurosport and GCN. The second round will begin at 18:00 CET on Saturday.

The remaining rounds will take place in London on December 3-4 and in Tel Aviv on December 11.
