Annemiek van Vleuten's unbeatable strength in the Tour de France Femmes Avec Twift was further demonstrated when second-place finisher Demi Vollaring (SD Worx) claimed to be in "the best shape of her life," but was unable to surpass the winner of the yellow jersey Even more revealing.

Aside from the overall standings, jerseys, and stage wins, the most emotional thing for Vollering was being able to share his accomplishments with his family, especially his father.

"I was really happy that my family was here. They don't come to many of my races, but it means so much to me to have them here for such a great race. I'm really family oriented, so I really like being with my family."

"My dad was going through a little bit of a tough time and I really wanted to make him proud. And I was able to do that."
