Bikes with Shimano 105 Di2: Who has them and how available are they?

With Shimano 105 now running 12-speed electronic control on the latest R7100, Shimano now rivals SRAM in the variety of 12-speed electronic groupset lineups.

However, even Geraint Thomas ran an 11-speed Dura-Ace Di2 at this year's Tour de France in Copenhagen's Grande Pearl, so you can see that actually getting a bike with a 12-speed Shimano groupset is not that easy!

Dura-Ace Di2.

Availability of Dura-Ace and Ultegra Di2 groupset is still poor almost a year after their release. It seems that the major brands will not commit to 105 Di2 until they are confident that they have enough group sets to fit thousands of bikes.

This means that you are more likely to find 105 Di2 at smaller builders who do not need as many group sets as the big brands. Also, smaller direct-sale brands can more easily adjust production if their inventory grows. And because they are built-to-order, they do not need a huge inventory of 105 Di2 group sets to start shipping bikes.

The Shimano 105 Di2 R7100 shares many of the features of Shimano's high-end 12-speed groupset, including a central battery to power the derailleur and semi-wireless shifting with wireless connection from the shift lever. [Hydraulic disc brake version, 50-34t or 52-36t chainsets only. However, all options we found were 50/34t, suggesting that semi-compact chainrings may not yet be available. This chainset could be paired with either an 11-34t in-series cassette or a non-series 11-36t, which is wider than a Dura-Ace or Ultegra 12-speed.
